Headed into Summer Fun

Vince turned two on May 16th - I can't believe how quickly time has flown by!  We went to his party on Saturday the 15th to help celebrate.

Will had fun coloring... or holding a crayon... with Vince's girlfriend, Hannah

Yay for birthday parties!

Investigating the soccer ball with Daddy

The party wore him out... he conked out on the ride home - even in the midst of playing with what Momma and Daddy affectionately refer to as the "emergency book"!

Will enjoyed the Children's Carnival at church last weekend.  He is a true "people watcher," and he had plenty to watch!

All that "people watching" and outside time had him ready for bed when we got home!

Last weekend I met up with some of her former students -Claire, Maggie, and Stephanie - to catch up at a "Panera reunion."  Claire and Stephanie just graduated from William & Mary, and Maggie is now a CNU alum! I'm so proud of these ladies and the fabulous difference they are making in the world.

Yesterday Will and I met Erin and Beatrix and the Playroom for some fun times.

 There was lots to do in "Toddler Land" with our favorite playmate, Beatrix.

Will liked to check out the contents of the fridge in one of the play kitchens.

Beatrix and her mommy had fun in the inflatable.

Sympathy Sickness

Mr. Bootie Man had come down with a little cold a bit over a week ago.  We noticed some congestion, and as it was getting worse (and with us being first-time parents), we headed to the doctor for a little check-up.  The doctor said the congestion and cough was not very bad, and we should continue our saline spray, elevate his crib, and use Benadryl if necessary.  (Side note: A disoriented, super sleepy nine-month-old huddled at the bottom of an elevated crib whining at 11:23pm is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.)  He has steadily been feeling better and just has a little cough at times.

According to all the experienced moms, this cold seems to be associated with his first tooth that is coming in.

Speaking of experienced moms, my mom has come down with the sinus/cold junk that has been going around.  She spent most of the weekend in bed in an attempt to feel better.  She took her first "sick day" of the year on Monday, and Mark stayed home with Will.  We're glad to say that she's doing MUCH better... now if she can just breathe, she would be feeling great!  :-)

And on another note... Mark has started feeling under the weather.  Ugh.  Should I be hooked up to a Vitamin C IV??

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  Tabitha and Will visited with Erin and Beatrix on Friday.  Will had a great time playing, crawling, pulling up, and eating puffs with the beautiful Beatrix.

On Saturday Will had the best time with a cardboard box.  We'll have to remember this fascination around his birthday and Christmas!  :-)

Mark and Will gave Tabitha a great first Mother's Day on Sunday!

Nine-Month Stats

Will turned nine months old last week (May 6th), and he had his well-baby check-up today.  Dr. Shayne said he looked great, and he was a champ for the three immunizations he received today!

Here's his stats:
Height = 28.5 inches (75th percentile)
Weight = 20 pounds (50th percentile)
Head circumference = 47 cm (90th percentile)

Cinco de Mayo Fun

We took advantage of a fabulous deal on Tuesday - Chik-fil-A offered a free meal to teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day.  Yay!  With two educators in the house, that meant a completely free dinner for us both!  :-)  The restaurant was pretty crazy (teachers will do anything for free stuff!), but it was a lot of fun!  Will met the Chik-fil-A cow, and he thought he was pretty entertaining.  No crying at all!

Will has learned to pull himself up and stand in his pack-and-play.  He is so proud of himself and squeals and laughs!  We can't believe how fast he went from all fours to a supported standing pose!

Tabitha has been working overtime with her AP English students lately in preparation for the AP English Exam tomorrow.

Here is a a class picture (minus Lindsey!) of the kids in their "thoughtful" pose the last day that the class was together before the exam.  :-)

We went to Don Papa Grande today with the Lundys to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  Will, with a steady supply of puffs, had a great time!
